Justification of the Course:

This Personal Survival Skills Proficiency course is part of the minimum requirements for basic safety training and instruction for all seafarers, in accordance with Regulation VI/1, Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-1 of the amended STCW '78 Convention and its Training Code. Providing the necessary skills for all seafarers employed or engaged on board a ship, they must know the basic principles of sufficiency in personal survival techniques, as these are part of their comprehensive training; and will allow you to manage safety-related aspects with skills


COURSE CONTENT:

  • Survival at sea in the event of abandonment of the ship.
  • Safety Guide and Introduction to Survival at Sea.
  • Principles of survival at sea.
  • Emergency situations. Evacuation.
  • Individual Lifesaving Devices.
  • Survival boats and rescue boats.
  • Abandonment of ship and survival.
  • Emergency radio equipment.
  • Actions of the survivor when being rescued.

    DURATION OF THE COURSE:

17 hours (3 days).


CERTIFICATION:

An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
