RATINGS FORMING PART OF NAVIGATIONAL WATCH IMO COURSES

Justification of the Course:

The Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch course will provide the necessary skills in relation to the steering of the ship, maintaining the surveillance service at all times, to carry out safe navigation, in accordance with Regulation II/4, Section A-II/4 and Table A-II/4 of the STCW'78 Convention, amended and its Training Code.


COURSE CONTENT:

  • Steering the Ship and Carrying out orders.
  • Maintain appropriate visual and auditory vigilance.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and control of surveillance.
  • Nomenclature and definitions on board.
  • Handle emergency equipment and apply emergency procedures.
  • Emergency matters and red flags.
  • Pyrotechnic distress signals.

    DURATION OF THE COURSE:

40 hours (5 days).


CERTIFICATION:

An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
