Justification of the Course:
This course aims to provide participants with the theoretical and practical training essential to plan and execute safe navigation within Panamanian jurisdictional waters, applying the provisions of the rules that regulate national maritime and port activity; additionally, compliance with the regulations for the conservation of aquatic resources established by the ARAP.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Introduction.
- Coastal navigation.
- Knowledge of meteorology and oceanography of the area.
- Methods of tackle and fishing system.
- Basic security measures.
- Personal survival.
- Fire prevention and fighting.
- First aid.
- Awareness of protection for all seafarers.
- Radiocommunication.
- Care of the marine environment, prevention of pollution.
- Current national and international legislation, closed periods and prohibited areas.
DURATION OF THE COURSE:
86 hours (11 days).
CERTIFICATION:
An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
