ENGINE ROOM RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IMO COURSES

Justification of the Course:

This course structure has been developed for all seafarers employed or hired on board a ship who are entrusted with tasks in the engine room, emphasizing the optimal use of the human and technological resources available to achieve a safe watch. Knowing what to do, when to do it and doing it well, allows you to define the individual tasks and responsibilities of the various team members and the development of a situational awareness to prevent individual errors in machine guarding.


COURSE CONTENT:

  • Effective management and use of resources.
  • Effective communication.
  • Determination and leadership.
  • Teamwork models.
  • On-call management and workload.
  • Achieving and maintaining situational awareness.
  • Situational awareness through the resources of the engine room.
  • The analysis of the team's experience.
  • Duties associated with taking charge of the guard and in the Changing of the guard.

    DURATION OF THE COURSE:

33 hours (5 days).


CERTIFICATION:

An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
