ADVANCED TRAINING FOR OIL TANKER CARGO OPERATIONS (IMO 1.02) IMO COURSES

Justification of the Course:

This course has been developed in accordance with Rule V/1-1 paragraph 4, Section AV/1-1 paragraph 2 and Table AV/1-1-2 of STCW '78 as amended code. Captains, First Deck Officers, First Engineer Officers, and anyone with immediate responsibility or other related operations of an oil tanker must be aware of the advanced principles of cargo operations, as these are part of their comprehensive training; and will allow you to handle aspects related to safety and skills.


COURSE CONTENT:

  • Knowledge of oil tanker design, systems and equipment.
  • Pump theory and characteristics, including types of charge pumps and their safe operation.
  • Tanker safety culture and safety management system implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and safety systems, including emergency shutdown Loading, unloading, care and handling of cargo.
  • Effect of liquid bulk cargoes on finish, stability, and structural integrity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of operations related to oil cargo.
  • Ability to calibrate and use gas monitoring and detection systems, instruments, and equipment.
  • Case studies, etc.

    DURATION OF THE COURSE:

62 hours (8 days).


CERTIFICATION:

An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
