Justification of the Course:

This is the minimum level of competence for the position of Competent Deck Seaman, the candidate shall be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and the ship and to properly use fire apparatus and support level. The participant will also have knowledge about the position of a competent deck man.

COURSE CONTENT:

• Contribute to safe navigation surveillance.
• Procedure for the relief, maintenance and handover of the guard.
• Information needed to maintain a safe lookout.
• Contribute to attacking, anchoring and other mooring operations.
• Procedure and order of events related to mooring to one or more buoys.

CERTIFICATION:

An Authorized certificate will be granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP).
