WORK IN CONFINED SPACES NON-IMO COURSES
Justification of the Course:
Maintenance in the maritime area entails a series of risks in which the safety of workers is compromised, it is important to bear in mind that safety does not represent an investment in itself but a mechanism to make company employees aware of the need to know professional safety based on systematic procedures of national and international standards that govern the ideal conditions in the work environment to control the existence of occupational accidents and work-related occupational diseases in confined spaces that can be prevented.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Introduction to the course.
- Concepts and classification.
- Space Preparation Procedures
- Precautions During Confined Space Entry
- Additional precautions for entering a space in which the atmosphere is, or is suspected to be, dangerous.
- Reasons for access to a confined space
- General and specific risks in a confined space.
- Preventive measures for the control of work in hazardous atmospheres.
- Preventive measures against specific risks.
- Training in specific work procedures in confined spaces.
- Hazards they may encounter (suffocating, toxic, flammable, or explosive atmospheres) and the necessary precautions.
- Use of rescue and respiratory protection equipment.
- Responsibilities of the entrance supervisor, assistant and their functions.
- Operations to be carried out in a confined space.
- Personal protective equipment.
DURATION OF THE COURSE:
- 8 hours (1 day).
CERTIFICATION:
- A certificate will be awarded at the end of the course.
