ON-BOARD EMERGENCY PROCEDURE NON-IMO COURSES

Justification of the Course:

The objectives of the maritime safety course are to promote and communicate a culture of maritime safety and a clearer perception of the importance of the marine environment through human-based principles. To provide the necessary material to train seafarers in order to broaden their knowledge and give them a clearer idea of the importance of the human factor for the safety of the ship, so that they can act properly.


COURSE CONTENT:

  • Introduction.
  • Emergency procedures.
  • Lifeboat.
  • Description of lifeboats.
  • Sails and lifeboat rigging.
  • Engines on and start/stop percussions.
  • Boat stowage.
  • Davits and types.
  • Lashings, chocks, strips, clippers and handbrake.
  • Lowering and hoisting of lifeboats.
  • Fastening the pasteca of the jar.
  • Lowering of boats with breaking of the stern ground.
  • Boat manoeuvring.
  • Lifeboat equipment.
  • Abandonment of ship.
  • Life rafts.
  • Construction of the life raft.
  • Launch of the life rafts.
  • Equipment for life rafts.
  • Hoops and life jackets.
  • Emergency.
  • Causes of fire and its prevention.
  • Environmental protection.

COURSE DURATION:

  • 8 hours (1 day).

CERTIFICATION:

  • A certificate will be awarded at the end of the course.
